The U.S. Supreme Court announced that they will hear all four marriage equality cases in front of them on Tuesday, April 28, and that a ruling will most likely be announced in late June / early July of 2015.
Like in 2013, a coalition of organizations and dedicated local organizers will be working together leading up to the oral arguments and decision to make clear to the Supreme Court that the American public supports marriage equality, and that now is the time to rule once and for all that all couples -- gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer and straight -- are entitled to the same rights and protections of marriage.
Here is Jacksonville, Florida we held a very successful rally in 2013 and it is time to do it again! This event will feature keynote speakers, fun for all, and a family friendly atmosphere. There will also be local candidates running for various offices onsite to talk to you before the primary elections on May 19th.
Please join the crowd in Memorial Park for this great event. Bring your Frisbees, footballs, outdoor games, and your picnic baskets/beverages and we will have a fabulous relaxed evening supporting SCOTUS and each other! We will have a small donation booth set-up to give to the Memorial Park Association to help preserve this beautiful park.
This event is being published on Facebook by me, but is in partner ship with many local and national organizations, including Unite For Marriage that I am the local representative for!
As more organizations contact me for support, I will let you know who else will be present.
Looking forward to seeing everyone there!
