The experiences and stories of queer people of color are only going to become more and more important as we move towards passing an inclusive HRO. In a city as big and diverse as Jacksonville, there need to be more spaces devoted to the QPOC experience. Let’s unite and empower our community to prepare for what’s to come!
All queer folks of color and their allies are invited to join us for this event which will highlight the specific struggles we’ve faced as a community and what we can do together to move forward in our strongest form.
Please consider attendance as an opportunity to educate and unite as we fight against the discrimination that the LGBT community is subjected to in Jacksonville.
This event will be co-led by guest facilitators Shana Segars and Dwan Love from the LGBTQ Multicultural Advisory Committee at UNF.

Our office is located at 650 Park St next to the Jimmy Johns. Parking is located in the back, follow the signs to find us.
This event will connect volunteers directly with Jacksonville’s potential voters and volunteers. We have a goal to activate potential voters and volunteers by sharing our stories and educating voters about why this election matters to our community and the future of the HRO.
In March, we elected 7 pro-equality council members, leaving us just 3 shy of the 10 votes we need to secure the HRO. The May 19th election will be crucial to determining the fate of the HRO that we have been relentlessly working on since our failed attempt in 2012. If we can elect the candidates that have committed to supporting this ordinance, we can finally right that wrong and move forward as a community!
Food and drinks will be provided. We always start with a great training and we'll provide all the materials you'll need, including a script so you'll have a basis for your calls.
